The pressures of work and family life make it more difficult to find time to prepare food every day. As a result, spending the weekend preparing meals for the entire week becomes critical.

Prepare it all in one Saturday (or Sunday) afternoon, and you won’t have to go to the market for the rest of the week, and each supper just takes 30 minutes.

1. Make a strategy

Busy parents don’t have time to waste strolling around the market or supermarket wondering, ‘What should I eat today?’

To solve this problem, it only takes a few minutes late in the morning on a weekend to plan.

First, figure out how many people you need to feed and how many meals you need to prepare. It will be as follows for families that do not have lunch at home: 9 major meals (including 2 Saturday and Sunday lunches and 7 dinners during the week), 7 snacks

Each day’s menu consists of one savory meal, one soup, and one vegetable dish (fried, boiled, or salad). Make a list of important foods that are as detailed as possible.

Aside from a dash of ginger, cumin will deplete the taste of your fish sour soup!

2. Visit the market

Begin shopping once the meal plan is in place.

Everyone has an option; they may buy at markets, supermarkets, convenience stores, and so on. It is very important to choose a wide range of fresh ingredients based on the food list.

Don’t be concerned if you can’t buy one or two of the foods on the list. To make up for it, you can substitute another food or increase the amount of food from the prior meal. It’s not a huge issue to have a couple of repeat dinners a week.

A weekly trip to the market can help you save money and time.

3. Preparing food

This is the most difficult stage in the week’s meal preparation.

Please distribute the work among family members in order to make them happy!

Work can be assigned: the child can pick up vegetables, the father can cut tomatoes, the mother can wash and prepare various types of meat and fish… Turn on some music to allow everyone in the family more of a “moment” to enter the kitchen!

4. Cooking

Some recipes may be made ahead of time and refrigerated; for others, you simply need to partially process the food or place it in the freezer section; when eaten, it will be defrosted.

Take notice of the excellent culinary suggestion regarding “combining” stuff.

If you need to create a meal that will take a long time, start it on the stove first. Once that dish (e.g., bone broth, braised fish, etc.) is on the burner, move on to recipes that require less time.

5. Place food in the refrigerator

Food storage is the “secret” to ensuring that you just need to “go to the market”… in the refrigerator.

Arrange all of the plastic containers, glass jars, and plastic wrap food bags on your kitchen table. After preparing the meal, place it in appropriate containers.

Food preparation is also a good motivator to clean the refrigerator once a week. Make sure you don’t have too much stock and don’t forget to check the use-by date on the food in the fridge. This strategy wastes food while also taking up room to organize additional food.

Should be organized according to a planned plan: dishes at the start of the week are put outdoors, making them simpler to find than dishes in the middle of the week, and weekend dishes are maintained in the same location…

You may also put notes on a sticky note: which meal, for which day, what ingredients to add… and adhere it to the food container.

Work-life balance isn’t such a huge concern if you can make your family happy every day.
